- Coronary heart disease refers to coronary artery stenosis, myocardial ischemia, anoxia and necrosis caused by coronary atherosclerosis and other pathogenesis with angina pectoris as the main clinical symptom, similar to “ chest discomfort” in traditional Chinese medicine. Master of Traditional Chinese Medicine Lei Zhongyi proposed that coronary heart disease could be treated from the kidney, with pimpinella thellungiana wolff as the main formula. Considering the chest pain and oppression of the patients, he also pointed out that the key pathogenesis of the disease was phlegm and blood stasis, and creatively combined the famous prescription Gualou Xiebai Recipe and its series of Zhang Zhongjing in the Han Dynasty with the method of activating blood and removing blood stasis. With long - term clinical and experimental research, he created a new drug Danlou Tablet to treat coronary heart disease. At the age of 80 years, he studied coronary heart disease again by researching literature based on his clinic experience, and put forward that the pathogenesis of coronary heart disease is intermingled phlegm and toxic stasis, and created new prescription Danqu Tablet.
